Looking for a little help here....

I'm converting an 84 chevy 6.2 with dual tanks.  I'm going to have dedicated filters for diesel and WVO.  I'm in the process of ordering all the stuff, an am wondering if I need to replace the mechanical lift pump that currently exists for the diesel system with an electronic pump?  If so, then I imagine have the power to the lift pump tied into the toggle for fuel selection?

Or can I just leave the mechanical pump as is and let it pump all the while the system is running on WVO?

I'm guessing it needs to be replaced, but am looking for confirmation.

Any suggestions on where to order electronic lift pumps?

Thanks,

Dan

I would need to know what configuration you are planning on using to provide a good answer. Can you provide that?

Dana,

Looking at pretty much #15.  The more I think about it, I will have to replace the mechanical lift pump and replace with an electric.  Otherwise there is no way to shut the diesel pump off when in veggie mode (can't shut mechanical pump off...).  Correct?

This is probably the simplest option.

Make certain that the electric pumps you use can provide the the required pressure at the maximum flow your engine may use. A pressure guage is reccomended so you KNOW if your pumps are doing this to avoid IP damage/expense.
